"Friends of Trees is as much about community as it is about trees. It’s a magical thing to bring people together to plant. Getting your hands dirty creates connections between people, trees, and their neighborhoods, and it can set someone on a new path as a neighbor, community steward, or member of the green workforce."

Rivian Foundation's grant

Rivian Foundation’s support is helping Friends of Trees to engage more than 5,000 volunteers annually in over 100 planting events focused on low-canopy neighborhoods and vulnerable ecosystems across Oregon and Southwest Washington. The grant will also support expansion of the Adult Urban Forestry workforce development program for 60–80 participants, strengthen financial resilience amid federal grant volatility, and improve systems for tracking tree survival and volunteer impact while piloting sustainability upgrades such as fleet electrification and solar energy.
