About Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project

Based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the Nuestra Tierra Conservation Project is committed to ensuring that historically excluded communities have access to the outdoors and that their history, values, and people are authentically represented in public land and water management decisions. Working at the intersection of environmental conservation and social equity, Nuestra Tierra focuses on community building, policy advocacy, and youth empowerment. The organization has become a national leader on issues of public lands and equitable access, successfully advocating for significant conservation and equity initiatives in New Mexico and beyond.

Rivian Foundation's grant

Rivian Foundation's support is helping Nuestra Tierra to advance restoration work in the La Mancha wetland, ensuring its long-term sustainability and ecological health. This funding will also protect historical and cultural lands while advancing equitable access to the outdoors, build partnerships to support conservation campaigns. and secure long-term investments in community-led, nature-based programs for underserved youth.
