"What started as a small group of community members coming together to plant trees has grown into a multifaceted organization tackling tree canopy equity and climate change regionally. Building stronger communities has always been the core of our mission -- trees are the way we will get there."

About TreeFolks

TreeFolks is a Central Texas leader in climate-resilient reforestation, community tree planting, and environmental education. Through programs rooted in ecological restoration and environmental justice, TreeFolks engages residents, volunteers, landowners, and local governments in growing native tree canopy and reforesting degraded floodplains. Their work spans urban neighborhoods, riparian zones, and disaster-affected lands, and includes efforts to expand access to shade and green infrastructure in underserved communities. A new in-house native nursery will soon produce 33,000+ saplings annually, advancing local seed sovereignty and enabling climate-ready trees to be grown from seed to soil.
