"GYF is empowering youth of color to become leaders in outdoor recreation, climate change advocacy, and sustainable careers—careers that people of color have traditionally been excluded from. Through innovative programs and opportunities, we are breaking barriers, building inclusive pathways, and cultivating a generation of stewards who reflect the rich diversity of our world—ensuring that the future of conservation is as equitable as it is green."

About Greening Youth Foundation

The Greening Youth Foundation (GYF) is helping to create the next generation of environmental leaders. Its mission is to engage underrepresented youth and young adults by connecting them to the outdoors and careers in conservation. GYF’s culturally based environmental education programming engages children from local communities and exposes them to healthy lifestyle choices, fostering overall community well-being. At the same time, GYF provides career opportunities and training for both at-promise youth and high-performing students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), offering fellowships and internships that promote environmental stewardship.

Rivian Foundation's grant

Rivian Foundation's support is helping GYF to expand training programs, including for tree equity initiatives and urban forestry work in the Metro Atlanta area of Georgia. It is also helping GYF to make investments that will help enable the continued growth and impact of GYF’s mission, including enhancing finance and operations functions and its grants management system.
