“Solar power, jobs, and a clean energy future are for everyone, but too many traditionally marginalized neighborhoods are at risk of missing out. Through our SHINE initiative, Rare is working to ensure neighborhoods in Boston and beyond reap the benefits of a clean energy transition.”

Rivian Foundation's grant

Rivian Foundation's support is helping Rare to build on the successful SHINE pilot project in Boston and expand the program to 2-3 additional U.S. cities. This funding is crucial in leveraging upcoming government resources like the EPA’s Solar For All program to help empower communities to participate in and benefit from the clean energy transition. By training new clean energy workers, showcasing community nonprofits as solar hosts, and deploying clean energy technologies, Rivian Foundation’s support will help Rare's SHINE program to build inclusive, systemic solutions that deliver cost savings, green jobs, and climate resilience to underserved communities.
