About Soul Trak Outdoors

Founded in 2018, Soul Trak Outdoors is dedicated to connecting marginalized communities with nature in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland area by empowering outdoor leaders from diverse backgrounds. The organization works to create inclusive outdoor spaces, build strong outdoor communities for underrepresented groups, and use outdoor adventure as a catalyst for cultivating new stewards of public lands. To date, Soul Trak has engaged over 900 Black and Brown community members in outdoor activities and led community service initiatives that have removed over 9,000 pounds of trash and serviced 15 miles of trails.

Rivian Foundation's grant

Rivian Foundation's support is helping Soul Trak Outdoors to strengthen its foundation for long-term success by expanding youth programming and establishing partnerships with new schools. This funding also supports the creation of incentive programs to encourage participant leaders to utilize their skills as facilitators in youth programs and the establishment of new technical skill programs with a goal of offering 15 courses annually.
