The Deep Sea Conservation Coalition (DSCC) is an international alliance of over 120 organizations dedicated to protecting the deep sea, one of Earth’s most critical and vulnerable ecosystems. The deep sea, which covers more than 95% of our planet’s habitable space, is a key player in absorbing carbon dioxide and supporting unparalleled biodiversity. However, it is increasingly threatened by deep-sea mining. The DSCC has been instrumental in raising global attention to deep-sea mining and elevating the perspectives of scientists and communities in the global dialogue to ensure the deep sea remains protected for future generations.
