The Rivian Foundation supports initiatives dedicated to helping to repair the legacy of mining and ensure that the future extraction of transition minerals respects, and benefits, nature and communities.

Trout Unlimited
Getting Transition Minerals Right
Trout Unlimited’s "Critical Juncture" initiative works to balance sensitive land protection, legacy pollution cleanup, and the responsible supply of transition minerals for the renewable energy economy. Trout Unlimited’s responsible mining program is focused on educating the public and decision makers on modernizing mining regulations, securing long-term funding for abandoned mine restoration, and facilitating third-party remediation.

Access to Clean Energy
GRID Alternatives works to make clean, affordable energy accessible to communities that have historically been left out of its benefits. Through clean energy services, Tribal partnerships, workforce development, and policy leadership, GRID helps lower household energy costs, build pathways to family-sustaining careers, and strengthen community resilience. Together, these efforts support lasting financial stability, community self-determination, and a clean energy economy that benefits everyone.
